Thank you for visiting my website!  It's a great joy to share my work with you.

I’ve been painting with pastel for 14 years.  My preferred method is to shoot quality reference photos with good composition and dramatic light and then improve on the photo.  In the studio, I work from the image on a computer screen. I start with a watercolor underpainting on museum grade sanded paper, then build pastel from there.  Many thanks to my mentor, Richard McKinley. (http://mckinleystudio.com/)
